Linus came to Green Door when he was just 9 years old and was the very first resident. Now 13, Linus is in the 7th grade and as always, is one of the top five in his class. For the past year Linus has conducted his very own radio program on Saturday mornings at a local station, Times FM 100.5. He talks about issues ranging from children’s rights to financial matters to HIV/AIDS awareness. Jackson (pictured above at right) is his best friend at Green Door and is at his side each Saturday with hopes to one day become an electrician or electrical engineer.
Linus has started a new group at his school called the Ambassadors of Peace, Joy and Love. The student group provides support to orphans and other vulnerable children and raises money to support organized play days at local orphanages in Dar es Salaam. The organization teaches students about international and regional peace, and also raises important local issues such as bullying at school.
